Ukraine to participate in Eurasian group on combating money laundering and financing terrorism - presidential decree

Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma has backed a government initiative for Ukraine to participate as an observer in the Eurasian group money laundering and financing terrorism.

A presidential decree issued by Kuchma is aimed at developing cooperation between Ukraine and the countries of Eurasian region in preventing and counteracting the legalization (laundering) of the proceeds of criminal activity, the presidential press service reported.

According to the document, the State Department for Financial Monitoring will represent Ukraine in the Eurasian group.
